This week our Pre-First students will be bringing home their ‘Sound books’. This book allows you to track which of the 42 sounds they are learning and support them at home. Please take around 10 minutes at home to review the sounds and encourage reading slowly some of the words with the children, for example “s-a-t   sat”.

It is important that you only review the sounds in the book and practice the words given in their booklets. For more information and resources, please read this.

On the inside cover of the sound book, we have included a notice to provide additional activities and games that parents can try at home, along with their reading practice. To complete these, please print off this copy and cut out the sounds corresponding to the sounds in the book and follow the activities as instructed. Please only use the sounds provided in the sound book as advancing too quickly with sounds not introduced at school can be counterproductive.

Corre Por La Salud – Tuesday 4th November

This year’s annual running event in secondary and prepa is being linked to a fundraising initiative with ‘Medicos Sin Fronteras’(MSF), the international NGO that works to provide much needed medical relief and assistance around the world. By ‘sponsoring’ a runner you get to help provide much needed assistance to families recently affected by the heavy rains and floods in Hidalgo.

All you need to do is assign a specific amount of money for each lap completed by your runner, this could be a secondary or prepa student or one of our teachers who are running. The target is 11 circuits in the time allotted for the race, so if you offered $5 pesos per circuit that would amount to $55 pesos which you would give the runner assuming they completed all 11 circuits (it could be a little more or a little less depending on the runner’s capabilities).

Please take the initiative and sponsor a student or a member of staff – all you need to do is send your runner an email confirming the amount you are prepared to sponsor and they will get back to you to let you know how many circuits they completed.

De lo Orgánico a lo Fértil: ¡Juntos Hacemos Composta!

Invitamos a toda la comunidad escolar, desde Preescolar hasta Preparatoria, a participar en nuestra campaña de recolección de desechos orgánicos para elaborar composta. Trae tus residuos orgánicos (como cáscaras de frutas, de verduras o restos de comida natural, café de grano, excepto cáscaras de cítricos) los días jueves y viernes y contribuye a crear abono natural para continuar expandiendo nuestras áreas verdes y huerto con tierra fértil producida por nosotros mismo. Utiliza un bote con tapa, escribe tu nombre y grupo, deposítalo en la palmera a un costado de recepción, te devolveremos tu bote para que sigas aportando desechos orgánicos.

 ¡Participando en comunidad la tierra se nutre mejor!

Sexualidad ATI

Agradecemos mucho su asistencia a las conferencias iniciales de Sexualidad ATI. Los talleres para los niños empiezan el 2 de diciembre y concluyen el día 10. Cada grupo tendrá 4 sesiones con los talleristas de ATI. En breve publicaremos las fechas de las sesiones por grado y grupo, para que los papás de 1°, 4° y 6° sepan cuándo son las sesiones en que tienen que acompañar a sus hijos. 

Les compartimos las ligas para consultar el material adicional a los talleres así como para adquirir los libros de Editorial ATI, si son de su interés.

El próximo jueves 13 de noviembre será nuestra sesión CAD de la generación de 5° de Primaria. Los esperamos en el auditorio del colegio a las 8:00 horas para participar con sus hijos en una experiencia de aprendizaje. La duración aproximada de este evento es de una hora y media.

This week marks exam week, and we’d like to take a moment to remind you (and your children) of the importance of believing in themselves. 

Exams are just one way to measure progress, but they don’t always reflect everything a student has learned or the growth they’ve achieved throughout the year.

Please encourage your child not to feel pressured to reach a specific grade. What truly matters is their effort, perseverance, and dedication to doing their best. These qualities are far more valuable than any mark on a paper.

We know this week can be stressful, and that nerves may take over at times. Remind your child to pause, take a few deep breaths, and trust in the work they’ve already done. Confidence, calmness, and self-belief can make all the difference.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our students approach this week with positivity and trust in themselves.
