Dear Merici Community,
It is with great satisfaction that we have come to the end of a very particular school term which will remain in our memories for many years to come. A term marked by change and uncertainty that accelerated our relationship with technology and brought about a drastic sense of adaptation to a new world order.
As announced in the previous edition of our School Bulletin, in our attempt to strengthen our English programme alongside our international perspective, some important actions have already been taken. One of special relevance is the appointment of our new Head of Middle & Upper School, Mr. Thomas Kadelbach.
Thomas Kadelbach is an experienced professional, whose life has been dedicated to K-12 education in diverse settings across the US, Spain and Mexico. Born and raised in the US, Mr. Kadelbach is a passionate educational leader with proven experience in implementing and developing high quality programmes. Well-versed in different international accreditation systems, in professional development and in pedagogical approaches that promote innovation and 21rst Century skills, Mr.Kadelbach is eager to join our school as he contributes to the fulfilment of our Mission Statement. We were glad to have hosted many parents for the presentation of the 2021-2022 pedagogical model. We received very significant feedback as we opened a constructive dialogue to discuss concerns, ideas and views in regard to our forthcoming return to school in August.
As we wrap up the school year, we want to express our gratitude to all community members, parents’ board, staff, and stakeholders in general, who have stood by our side and expressed their trust and support. We are looking forward to a brighter, better year for all, and part of that, will come from our own actions and sustained effort.
May you all have a wonderful holiday season.
Alfonso García Williams,
Head of School.
